Rolling Thunder

02Mar09

Rolling Thunder is a beautifully designed and well written anarchist journal. Issue 3, from 2006, has been published on the web recently. It has a fascinating, long critical essay on Anti-Germanism, entitled “Anti-Nationalist Nationalism: The Anti-German Critique and Its All-Too-German Adherents”. I need to digest it a bit better before responding. Read it at p.24+ of this pdf.

Incidentally, it is an indictment, as far as I am concerned, of anarchism today that the bulk of this (buly) magazine is made up of empty, gestural invocations of various forms of pointless, ritualistic “resistant” violence. Things improve on p.39 with a very sharp account of the life of contemporary slave labour in North America’s greenhouse tomato industry.
